Afternoons R.O.C.K. in Indiana informs youth of the dangers of drugs, alcohol, tobacco and gambling, to 10-14 year old youth in a safe, supervised environment in the after-school hours. R.O.C.K. provides a safe way to spend time with friends after school, fun games, homework assistance, arts and crafts and activities. R.O.C.K. is a wonderful way for youth to spend the after school hours and best of all, it is FREE!

Why Youths Aged 10-14?  Nearly two-thirds of all new drug experimentation in Indiana begins between the end of sixth grade and the end of ninth grade.  This time period represents a window of increased vulnerability. R.O.C.K. seeks to reach these youth and stop problems before they start. Replace afternoon temptations by enhancing youths' afternoons with activities that infuse the youth with positives:

  • Recreation
  • Object Lessons
  • Culture and Values
  • Knowledge

Activities include:  Conflict Resolution  ~  Refusal/Resistance Skills  ~  Violence Prevention Programs  ~  Awareness of Peer and Social Influences  ~  Awareness of Advertising Pressures  ~  Structuring Leisure Time to be Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Free.
